The 2nd AIUB International Conference on Business and Management (AICBM 2021) ended on 30th October 2021 at American International University-Bangladesh. The Faculty of Business Administration organized the two-day conference (October 29 and 30) on the virtual platform. “Changing Global Business Paradigm” was the theme of this year’s conference.
Vice-Chancellor of AIUB Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna (AIUB), Chairman of Bangladesh Accreditation Council Dr. Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Member of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh Dr. Abu Taher, Vice-Chancellor of Lovely Professional University (India) Dr. Lovi Raj Gupta, Director of IBA Prof. Mohammad A. Momen, CEO of Grameenphone Ltd Mr. Yasir Azman gave speech at the opening ceremony of the conference on Friday. At the opening plenary session, Dr. Abu N. M. Waheeduzzaman, Professor of Marketing and International Business, Texas A&M University (Corpus Christi), gave the keynote speech and Rtn. Md. Mashequr Rahman Khan, PHF, President, BSHRM, participated as the industry expert.
Local and international researchers presented a total of 55 peer-reviewed papers. Additionally, Professor Dr. Rajesh Verma, Dean of Mittal School of Business (LPU, India), Mr. Mohammad Abdullah Zaber, Managing Director, Zaber & Zubair Fabrics Ltd., Noman Group, Mr. Md. Amran Hossan FCA, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Edison Power Bangladesh Limited, Mr. Shubho Al Farooque, Managing Director, Zantrik, Mr. Mahmudul Alam Shakkhor, Manager, Sales Globe Fisheries Limited shared their expert opinions at the conference. Over 500 participants, including students from different parts of the world, attended each of the 13 sessions of the conference.
At the closing ceremony, the Chief Guest Dr. Chere’ C. Yturralde, Professor and Dean, College of Business & Accountancy, Angeles University Foundation (Philippines). The event ended with a Vote of Thanks given by Dr. Hasanul A. Hasan, Founder Member and Chairman, Board of Trustees of AIUB. The conference organizing members Professor Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, Professor Dr. Nisar Ahmed, Director of MBA Program, and Ms. Farheen Hassan, Director of BBA Program, were present at the closing event.
The conference shows the increasing level of collaboration between academia and various industries in Bangladesh despite the limitations placed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
